My great Olympian
It's been a long time since I've done a Duane update. (If you're new here you can read a little more about Duane here and here.)He is still a big part of my life and I'm happy about that. Yesterday was Special Olympics day here in our county. Duane has been looking forward to this event for weeks. He constantly reminded me that the day was approaching. Last week in one conversation we had he said, "Just one more week until my big day. I just know I'm going to be great!" I assured him that I agreed and I reminded him that he is great everyday. I wish I had his self-assuredness.
This morning I couldn't wait to see Duane. When I got to the office I quickly printed out a banner so I'd be ready for his visit. Sure enough, a few minutes after I arrived Duane came running in to show me his ribbons which were proudly displayed on his chest. We talked about how fast he ran, how far he threw the softball and how fantastic he performed in the long jump. On his way out the door Duane turned around, smiled and said, "I told you I'd be great!" I replied, "You always are!"
Duane IS great and he makes my life greater by being in it.

That is fabulous.
Congratulations Duane!
Take Care
Michael

That is GREAT news Deb... About Duane... I was just wondering if he is still into the ball point pen collection, or was that a passing fad? I Love your blog.
